ESG: Key to Public Relations & Growth in Asia Pacific Orgs

In the PRovoke Media 2023 Communications Index Survey over a hundred in-house communications leaders, it was discovered that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations have become significantly important, with more than two-thirds of respondents highlighting its relevance to their roles. This marks the first instance in the study where ESG was identified as a leading factor influencing business priorities. The findings underscore the evolving landscape of ESG, particularly in the Asia Pacific region, where its integration into business practices is still at a nascent stage compared to the Western world. This is largely due to the regulatory environment in Asian markets, where many countries, including China, Singapore, and India, are only beginning to introduce and implement ESG-related directives, laws, and guidelines. Japan, however, is noted for being more advanced in its ESG initiatives, setting a precedent for other nations in the region.
