There have been some headlines suggesting "The Rise and Fall of Podcasts." They're misleading. What's actually happening is many of the bigger network podcasts, the ones created ONLY to make money, are finding they can't do it. It can cost $30,000 to produce a network level podcast episode. Then another $30,000 to promote it. But they can only sell $10,000 worth of ads... because podcasts are so democratized. Independent podcasts are thriving and listenership, study after study in country after country, continues to rise.
